Cheap ID photo printing at a Japanese convenience store

Need a passport, visa, residence-card, or other ID photo in Japan for printing or online upload? Make one digital JPEG or an exact-size print sheet on your phone, then use the output that matches your application.

How to print an ID photo at Seven-Eleven

    1. Choose the required size in Kirei ID

    Select the destination or enter the required width and height in millimetres before taking or importing the photo. Adjust the frame, background, and colour, then open the print-sheet view.

    2. Export a JPEG print sheet

    Choose L paper and the number of copies, check the preview, and export the sheet as a JPEG. Kirei ID makes an exact-size 300 dpi sheet; do not resize it in another app.

    3. Send the JPEG with Seven-Eleven Multicopy

    Open the official セブン‐イレブン マルチコピー app, register the JPEG, and use its QR code. The app sends the photo to the machine over local Wi-Fi.

    4. Print at the machine

    Choose プリント, then 写真プリント, scan the QR code, select the JPEG and L photo paper. Keep the original size; do not use fit, crop, or enlargement.

Before you pay

  • Check that the destination accepts the chosen dimensions and number of copies.
  • Measure one cut photo at 100% after printing; a machine setting can still scale the sheet.
  • Keep the JPEG until you have checked the print.
  • For another chain, check its official app and price list.

Save one edited JPEG on your phone for a digital upload, or open the separate print sheet for physical copies. Kirei ID keeps both outputs on your device; check the receiving portal's limits.

Questions about convenience-store printing

Is this the cheapest ID photo option in Japan?

It is a low-cost, practical route when you use a prepared JPEG. Seven-Eleven lists L photo printing from ¥40 per sheet, but prices and other chains change, so compare current official menus if the absolute lowest price matters.

Can I print a passport or visa photo this way?

Yes, if the receiving authority accepts that physical size and a convenience-store photo print. Check its current rules for face size, background, paper, recency, and editing.

Should I use the direct ID-photo menu?

Not for this workflow. Use regular 写真プリント for the JPEG sheet; Seven-Eleven lists 証明写真 as a separate service and price.
